Identity in Christ Series: Week Seven I am a Citizen of Heaven
Philippians 3:20 (NLT) But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT) But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. As believers it is important for us to understand that we are not citizens of this earth but our citizenship is in heaven. According to 1 Peter 2:9, as Citizens of Heaven we have different roles/duties to fulfill. Our first role is as a chosen people. God chose each of us to be citizens in His kingdom.
