Lessons From the Secret Place – Miniseries- Preparation for the Second Coming: Lesson 2, Part B- Watch Your Diet and Exercise

As I stated in the last lesson, our spiritual diet must be maintained so we can walk in intimacy with the Lord. Our diet must consist of the following: feeding on the Word, savoring the Word, prayer, and spending time in God’s presence.  Today we will touch on prayer and spending time in God’s presence, which I have blogged about in a previous lesson (See Intimacy with God: Be Intentional Part 1).  In our next lesson we will then dive into spiritual exercise.   Philippians 4:6-7, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:1, pray without ceasing… Matthew 26:41, Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Colossians 4:2, Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with than...

Lessons From the Secret Place – Miniseries- Preparation for the Second Coming: Lesson 2, Part A- Watch Your Diet and Exercise

This lesson is not a lesson on traditional diet and exercise, but rather a lesson on spiritual diet and exercise.  Just as physical diet and exercise are important to the body, so spiritual diet and exercise are important to the soul.   I want to begin this study with some statistics: 1. Approximately 32% of adults in the U.S. eat fast food on a daily basis, according to the CDC.  2. In a 2016 survey by Lifeway showed that more than half of Americans had read little or none of the Bible. Most often, they said they didn’t place a priority on Bible reading or just didn’t feel they had the time for it. 3. Lifeway Research found better Bible reading habits in a 2019 survey of Protestant churchgoers: 32 percent read the Bible every day and 27 percent read it a few times a week. 4. The 2023-24 RLS (Religious Landscape Study) finds that 44% of U.S. adults say they pray at least once a day.  Our spiritual diet must be maintained so we can walk in intimacy with t...

Lessons From the Secret Place – Miniseries- Preparation for the Second Coming: Special Edition – Stay in His Hand

As I was talking with the Father yesterday morning, He gave me a word for us.  What I am sending you is exactly what I wrote as He spoke. However, I have added my own pray and some scripture passages at the end of this lesson.   Come and sit with me.  Come rest in me. I am your peace, your hope, joy, rest, comfort, shelter, and protection.  I am source of every good thing.  I ‘ve paid the price for all of this with the life of my precious son.  No sacrifice is too great for fellowship with my people. I delight in being with my children.  Resting in the shade and talking together.  My joy is seen in each sunrise and sunset. My favor rests on those who fear me.  My life is in my Spirit and my Spirit dwells in you! My DNA runs through the veins of my children.  I have called them by name, they are mine. With each passing day, my mercies and strength are renewed. I hold my children in the palm of my righteous right hand and cover them w...

Lessons From the Secret Place – Miniseries- Preparation for the Second Coming: Lesson 1- Guard Your Tongue

Last week I had a dream and when I woke up, I wrote it down and then I asked the Lord what he wanted to say to me through it. He identified for me that the dream was about the rapture to church. And that many people in the church are not prepared to meet him at his second coming. He told me that his bride must stay alert, steadfast, and not be prone to distractions. She must be ready at a moment’s notice to do the assignments he has for her. Then he gave me a list of things that we need to guard ourselves from so we stay untainted by the world. He reminded me that he is coming for a bride without spot or wrinkle. In this miniseries, I want to take each of the things we need to guard ourselves from and talk about what that looks like in practical application. I also want to dive into what it looks like if we allow ourselves to be tainted by the world in the way we act, think, speak, and live and how that impacts our relationship with Christ. To begin this miniseries, we will be looking ...

Lessons From the Secret Place – Lesson 7: Lift up Weary Hands

Last week I had a disturbing dream. When I awoke, I asked the Lord to show me what it meant.  Following is what I received:  The hope of many in the church as grown cold.  The pressures of life and the voices of the world have beaten down my church and many of my children are “lying on the floor in the fetal position feeling defeated and hopeless.”  Many are contemplating whether they still even want to go on in their faith.  They are struggling to see me in the culture, their churches, and in their own lives.  The enemy has crept into their homes and churches with his bullying lies.   He is attempting to deceive my Bride into believing that I am a cold, uncaring God, and in some cases has convinced them I do not even exist.  He is trying to remove all hope from my people. The enemy is coming in to tempt the weak in faith with treats (pleasures) to build their trust and to gain their favor.  He knows the “sweet spot” and is tirelessly wo...

Vision of the Lord’s Army

As I was praying this morning I saw a vision.  In my vision I saw a might, vast army marching shoulder to shoulder, row after innumerable row.  This army was marching from two places: Heaven and Earth.  As they marched, they were merging into one POWERFUL AND VAST ARMY. THE LORD’S ARMY!!! They were being led by a chariot of fire.  Next, I saw a battlefield strewn with bodies and the Lord’s army taking out the enemy forces left and right. Angels and men, linking arms and fighting back-to-back.  The slain were not from the Lord’s Army.   In the Lord’s Army, whenever a man was injured, his angel counterpart would lift him up and touch the wound bringing instant healing so he could resume his position in the battle.  The Lord spoke to me and said, “The human portion of the army is made up of my sold out, surrendered, obedient children who are willing to take a stand for righteousness.   They are workplace warriors, homemakers, neighborhood “...

Lessons From the Secret Place – Lesson 6 Favor Isn’t Fair

I am in a season of transition and my blogging has been scattered and inconsistent.  I believe it will remain this way for the unforeseeable future.  I will endeavor to blog as the Lord leads but cannot promise consistency as in the past.   Today I want to relate the events of our family’s weekend experiences as they relate to God’s favor.   Psalm 5:12, For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. (ESV) Friday, our dear friend Joe, his son Caden, Scott, Samuel, and I embarked on a three-day whirlwind trip to Las Cruces, NM to help our daughter Emma and son-in-law Josh move to TX!!!   The five of us set off early Saturday morning to a clear and beautiful day.  We traveled unhindered from Temple, TX to El Paso, where we picked up a U-Haul trailer and continued our journey to Las Cruces.  The day was sunny and clear, the boys had a great time gaming and being all around silly.  I enjoyed some much-nee...
